I've been waiting for this! TIn previous books Marcus has seemed distant and caring at the same time. His story is unique as far as shifters go. He's a skinwalker, an extremely powerful one. One of his pack is challenging him for Alpha and some of the pack are following.
Holland is a human dealing with a crippling loss.
(Ashlee tapped into the real feelings and emotions a person lives with after such a loss. She didn't swipe at them to go with the story)
The book is fast paced but doesn't leave anything out. She has introduced a few new characters and I'm excited to see how it goes.

I love this series and found this book thrilling and suspenseful, with lots of action and plenty of steam. The hero and heroine are both facing major issues in their separate lives and becoming a couple only exacerbates their problems. The secondary characters in the coyote community, including the school-age children, bring some extra heart to the story as they face danger on several fronts and look to Marcus, the alpha shifter hero, for protection.. Holland, the human heroine, is complex, weighed down by grief and the fear of her past life catching up with her. Marcus faces repeated tests to his leadership. The story includes a few surprising twists, mostly connected to Holland's crazy panther shifter ex. The author also weaves a few characters from previous books in the series into the rock 'em, sock 'em concluding battle scene.

Hotness in a story. Great storyline. If you like shifters and others you will lobe this one. Great love story.

You never know what you'll get with a free book, but I loved Charmed! Read it in one day. Now I'll have to read the first 5. Good job. Especially happy it wasn't a cliffhanger!
I like how the story is simple but filled with so many emotions. All of the characters are strong willed and mostly loyal.
This is my first story in this series or by this author. I think I'm adding this series to my tbl.
Book 6 in this series is just as charming as the rest. Suspense, action, sexiness, protection, caring and charm are the words to describe the craziness that happens when Marcus and Holland come together and have to resolve the issue of her crazy ex. Features character cameos from previous stories, new realizations and revelations.
